Want more than just a few laughs

Actor Allari Naresh, who appears mostly in comedy films, found a huge break with the film Maharshi, where he plays a friend to Mahesh Babu’s character. The actor, who was appreciated for his performance in Maharshi, has become choosy about his films since.

The latest he has signed on is a concept-based film, which is directed by debutant Vijay Kanakamedala. The film is expected to give Allari Naresh the scope to expand the genres he works on. Incidentally, Vijay had earlier worked with star director Harish Shankar.

“Allari Naresh doesn’t want to stick to only comedy as he now wants to explore as many genres as possible, especially those that bring him some intense roles,” a source tells us.

Director Satish Vegesna will turn producer with this film.
