Emotional thrills
Actress Anya Singh reveals why she chose to make her Telugu debut in Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene.
Anya Singh, who made her Telugu debut with Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene, reveals that she signed the horror film for the emotional arch it offered.
“The best part about my role was the emotional scenes associated with it. They were challenging because they pushed me to be more expressive,” explains Anya. But Anya claims that she is actually scared of horror films. So when she looks back, the actress is indeed surprised about how she agreed to enact scenes involving ghosts. “I had even expressed my doubts to the director in the beginning, but soon I realised there were many people on the set and drew my confidence from that. Finally, I managed to pull it off,” she adds.
The actress, who is a Yash Raj discovery, credits the actor Sundeep Kishan and director Carthick Raju who ensured that she was comfortable. Anya further reveals that both Caarthick and actor-producer Sundeep handpicked her after seeing her performance in her Bollywood debut, Qaidi Band. The actress also goes on to state how she loves films working in the southern films.
“The audience in the south have been very receptive of me,” she adds.
