Jodi was supposed to be my debut film: Shraddha Srinath
Actress Shraddha Srinath will soon be seen playing a French teacher in her upcoming film, jodi.
Post the super success of her Telugu film, Jersey, all eyes are on Shraddha Srinath, who has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry. The actress will be next seen in Jodi opposite Aadi Saikumar. Directed by debutant Vishwanath, Shraddha will play the role of a French teacher in the romantic drama.
“I signed this film a couple of years back, and it was supposed to be my debut in Telugu,” reveals Shraddha, adding, “I was looking to be a part of commercial cinema and that was when I signed Jodi. The film expounds the lives and happenings of two people.”
Explaining that she did not have to prepare much for her part, Shraddha states, “I wanted to see how spontaneous I am, and I managed to live the character.”
While most actresses her age do not like to play roles of even married women, Shraddha was bold enough to play a mother to an eight-year-old in Jersey. “I am proud that I got a role which many others did not do, maybe that’s destiny,” she replies, adding, “Post that film, I got several roles on the same lines, but I don’t want to be typecast.”
Shraddha states that working in multiple languages has made her evolve as an actress. “It’s nice to see that filmmakers from other industries want to collaborate with us. Branching out to other industries gives me an opportunity to portray several characters,” she says as she signs off.
