Rendezvous with Raashi Khanna
Raashi Khanna is a busy bee for sure, but she's mastered the art of juggling.
If being busy is equivalent to happiness, Raashi Khanna is on cloud nine these days. Juggling between sets of multiple films in recent times, the actress is on a high. As she awaits the release of Jai Lava Kusa and her Malayalam debut Villain this month end, she’s also got Ravi Teja’s Touch Chesi Chudu and Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema coming up, alongside her Tamil debut with Siddharth. But amidst it all, she’s in her finest avatar ever.
“In fact, Jai Lava Kusa will see a very new me. From my styling to the way I look, everything is very fresh. I have been consistently working since two years towards a fit lifestyle and in the process I have lost weight. I think it’s showing now, more than ever. I eat properly and workout a lot. At one point I did go on crash diets but realised nothing works just like that,” she states.
That dedication seems to be translating into her work too. Juggling films in three languages is no easy task. “It isn’t! I know Telugu and can manage here easily. For Tamil, I have a tutor and I find the language similar to Telugu. But shooting for the Malayalam film was tough. I think it messes with your tongue!” she jokes, adding, “It was hard but I have learnt that working hard is the only way. I gave it my all.”
Never nervous before a release, she shares that there’s always a sense of excitement. “Jai Lava Kusa is my best look onscreen. Moreover, I worked with a great team. I remember when Bobby (director) told me that NTR would be seen in a triple role. I wondered how there’d be any space for me in a film like that! But Bobby assured me a presence and he has delivered it,” she shares.
But the icing on the cake, she asserts, was working with NTR. “I heard a lot about him and was excited to join him on the sets. He’s always energetic. When a person is juggling a lot of emotions in a single day, it can take a toll. But despite working on three characters alongside a TV show, his energy was always high. I think about how hard I work, but he leaves me speechless. I am inspired. I remember a day when he lost his voice too in between, but he kept going,” she concludes.
