Injustice to Mega family: Bunny Vas
Producer Bunny Vas launches a scathing attack on the Nandi Awards committee for neglecting the Mega family actors' films.
Producer Bunny Vas, a close aide of producer Allu Aravind, has strongly criticised the Nandi Awards for giving an award to Allu Arjun in the Best Character category, making it seem like a consolation move. “From the last three years, all the actors from the Mega family delivered good hits, so it is surprising that the committee didn’t consider them for awards,” he said on Wednesday, adding, “The industry is getting 50 per cent of the revenues from the Mega family actors’ films and the Awards committee has completely neglected them.”
Vas said that the committee classified Race Gurram as a commercial film and hence, did not consider it for an award. “If you look at the films that are selected for the awards, 75 per cent of them are commercial films. The Producers Council and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce should react to these Nandi awards,” he argued, adding that he has no personal grudge against anyone. “I think what has happened is not right and I am just trying to point that out.” Naturally, his strong comments against the Nandi Awards will have to be taken seriously as Vas is a key player in Allu Aravind and Chiranjeevi’s family.
