I don't seek inspiration for my films: Sankalp Reddy
Sankalp says that his first choice for the character of Dev in the film was Varun Tej.
Director Sankalp Reddy’s next film, Antariksham 9000, to be released on December 21, is the cause of much discussion these days but he is miffed that people are saying it is based around Hollywood movie, Gravity.
“I read a newspaper article on space and I decided to make a film around it. And no, it is not made on Tamil film Tick Tick Tick either. I don’t make my films by seeking inspiration from other films. I choose my own subject, research it and never copy any other film,” says the award winning director.
The director says that he worked hard for this film too. “I got most of the material for Antariksham from the internet and then I met an ISRO scientist from Bangalore. I have tried to recreate the atmosphere in the spaceships based on all the information I gathered,” says the director.
Sankalp says that his first choice for the character of Dev in the film was Varun Tej. “My debut film, Ghazi, had no romance but in this film you can see a bit of romance and patriotism too,” he says, adding, “I will take a break from Telugu and go for the Hindi films. But if the project delays further, then I will go with the Telugu film.”
