Trust the Akkineni bahu to always do something different. Samantha, who’s been showing an affinity for unique scripts lately, will star in the remake Korean film, Miss Granny (2014). The Telugu version of the film will be directed by Nandini Reddy and jointly produced by Suresh Babu and Sunitha Tati.

A source in the know reveals, “Since Miss Granny was already remade in several languages, the filmmakers approached Nandini Reddy and pitched the idea of a possible Telugu remake. Nandini felt the plot has a great blend of humour and emotions and agreed to direct it.” The film is about a woman in her ’70s who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after having her picture taken at a mysterious photo studio.

When the story idea of the comic drama was passed on to Samantha, she was thrilled to play the part.

“Since it is an interesting take on human emotions, Samantha was happy to be part of it. She feels this film will show her in a new light,” the source adds.
