The trailer of Venkatesh’s upcoming film Guru was released on Monday. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film is a remake of Saala Khadoos. “I am a new actor after this film. In my 30-year career, I have done many films and also got many rewards and awards, but this film will always be special. I have learnt a lot of things throughout my career, but I learnt the most in this film. The credit goes to Sudha,” says Venkatesh.

The actor plays a boxing coach in the film. Director Sudha made the film first in Tamil and Hindi with Madhavan as the lead actor. “Actually, she came to me first, but at that time, I was down with dengue, so I couldn’t do the film. After a year, she once again approached me and gave me the script,” reveals Venky, adding, ““I generally read only my dialogues and scenes, but she asked me to read the entire script, which was completely new to me. I was totally involved in the character of this film, which is a first for me,” reveals Venkatesh.

The actor also shares that director Sudha went through all his films and changed his style and dialogue delivery in this film. “I play a guru in the film, but actually Sudha is my guru, as I completely surrendered to her for this film. This film has changed my thought process towards my roles. I appeal to all the writers to come up with fantastic roles, as I am confident that I can do justice to them,” says Venkatesh.

The actor reveals that after completing the film, he told his family members that the film made him a better actor. Interestingly, Venkatesh has also sung a song in this film.
