Dance is my first love: Simran Choudhary
Simran Choudhary adds that she ventured into acting to add a different facet to her repertoire.
For someone who has been practicing dance since the age of six, getting into showbiz was never planned. However, Simran Choudhary adds that she ventured into acting to add a different facet to her repertoire.
“Getting into films wasn’t a conscious decision. I am a classical dancer — trained in Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam — and later did a few ads. I participated in a pageant show and won Miss Telangana 2017. But my tryst with showbiz started when I auditioned for this film. I was given a scene to perform and managed to pull it off. Soon I was on board,” shares Simran, on how she bagged the project.
Simran plays a love interest of Vivek Teja, and how she influences and drives his transformation will be a crucial part of the narrative.
Born and raised in Hyderabad, Simran says that Bharatanatyam helped get her expressions right. “I did not do any theatre or workshops prior to the shooting, but the film’s director Tharun Bhascker wanted me to be natural — the way I am. Also, I picked up things on the sets and my dance experience helped me to express myself better,” says the dancer turned actress, who shares that dance remains her first love.
Although Simran’s mother tongue is not Telugu, the actress says that using sync sound worked to her advantage. “I felt I may not be able to express the same emotions later,” she shares.
