'Balagam' continues to receive praise

HYDERABAD: Venu Yeldandi, director of ‘Balagam’, was praised for his fabulous work to come up with a movie with a realistic portrayal of rural life and culture of Telangana. “He captured every element of the rural setting meticulously. Telangana society needs more films like ‘Balagam’,” felt most speakers at a webinar held on Wednesday.

The webinar involved award-winning veteran director B. Narasinga Rao, academician Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, women’s activist Kavita Puli, Dr Ramu Suravajjula, and chairman of the PRSI Hyderabad Chapter, Y. Babji, among others.

People could connect with ‘Balagam’ easily and deeply since it could establish an emotional bond with life, said a speaker. “At a time when human relations are under severe stress, the film captured its essence very well. It made us all ponder about the need for healthy relations.”

All speakers sang paeans for the folk song in the climax which moved everybody.
