Yesterday, we reported that the fund-raising event “An Evening with Superstar Mahesh Babu”, which was to be held on October 27 in the US, had to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales. But the organisers, in a press release, point to security concerns and problems with the venue as the real reasons for the event being called off. They also say that the event has simply been postponed, for few months, and not cancelled. But they haven’t mentioned a new date. Mahesh Babu is currently in the US to shoot for his upcoming film Maharshi. And according to his wife Namrata, he may visit the country once again at the time of the film’s release, in April 2019. Perhaps the event will be scheduled then. Meanwhile, actor Srikanth says that the event is aimed at raising funds for Mahesh Babu’s own charity, and the Movie Artiste Association has nothing to do with it.
