Karthi has been very choosy
Japan promises a hearty family entertainment, says makers
Marking Karthi’s 25th cinematic journey, Japan stands out as the actor’s sixth collaboration with producer S.R. Prabhu’s Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Directed by Raju Murugan, Japan hits the marquees this Deepavali. While Anu Emmanuel is the romantic pair of Karthi, ace actor Vagai Chandrashekar, K.S. Ravikumar, Vijay Milton and Sanal Aman play crucial roles.
In an interaction with DC, Prabhu shed light on Karthi’s discerning approach to cinema. He remarked, “Over his two-decade-long career, Karthi has been part of just 25 films. His selectiveness stems from his commitment to impactful scripts. While filmmakers typically craft stories tailored to Karthi’s style, Japan unfolded differently.”
Delving into the genesis of Japan, Prabhu added, “Captivated by Raju Murugan’s previous works, Karthi reached out, exploring potential collaboration avenues. The one narrated by Raju, characterised by Karthi’s signature flair and a distinctive character development, resonated with him.”
Japan will be clashing with Jigarthanda Double X this Deepavali. “Every film carves its own niche. The anticipation surrounding Japan is palpable, and I'm confident it will secure ample screens during its release,” he concludes.
