Young director Meher Ramesh who is directing megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming film ‘Bholaa Shankar’ claims that his dream has come true. He says that a lot of changes have been made to this Tamil remake by adding a good dose of entertainment to enthrall viewers. The director is making a comeback after a few years gap. He shares his thoughts with Deccan Chronicle

How is working with Chiranjeevi in ‘Bholaa Shankar’?

Finally, my dream has come true and I am living my dream by interacting and working with Chiranjeevigaru every other day for the last two years. It is a godsend opportunity and I am cherishing it. It is the dream of every aspiring director, but I am fortunate to get it a bit early. Megastar is an encyclopedia of commercial cinema and he knows what is needed to enthrall viewers with every dialogue and gesture, so I have learned many things from him.

Aren’t you nervous with expectations soaring for “Bholaa…’? Why  Chiranjeevi had to imitate Pawan Kalyan?

On the contrary, I am confident and elated.  No doubt, fans have lapped up the two songs and trailer and set the internet on fire, but when I received appreciation calls from top directors like Prashanth Neel, Sukumar and Anil Ravipudi, and others, my confidence doubled since they are experts in designing star-studded movies. We made a lot of changes to this Tamil remake by adding loads of entertainment besides lavish songs and slam-bang action to provide a feast to viewers. Earlier, Pawan had used the dialogues and mannerisms of Chiranjeevi, now it was our turn, just to evoke some fun.

You have worked with superstars like Jr NTR and Prabhas in the past?

I was fortunate to direct these superstars in my career. Every superstar has his own style and swag, I could manage to transfer it on the big screen in films like ‘Billa’ and ‘Kantri’ and tasted success. I believe, churning out star-centric movies is more challenging than doing a content-based film. We need to cater to their huge fan base, so we have to be doubly cautious while weaving a story and screenplay that would enhance their larger-than-life image.

How is it like making a comeback after a few years?

I don’t think it is a comeback because I had begun work on “Bholaa Shankar’ almost three and a half years ago. Besides Covid lockdown, has given a break to many technicians. So I was around working on scripts and no break as such.
