Kannada actor Upendra talks about his path-breaking movie A, which is re-releasing in Telugu in the two Telugu states, and talks about the unconditional love that inspired him to make the film.

On re-releasing A in Telugu
“This is not my idea, but it came from the Telugu distributors, who thought that the film still has huge potential to be a crowdpuller. Initially, they re-released it in Kannada, and it worked wonders. So, they re-released it in Telugu states. Actually, A was a blockbuster in 1998, and now we are hoping to repeat the magic after 26 years since the plot and characterization were unique and even the narrative style was applauded by both critics and the general audience alike. Many thought A was way ahead of its time then.”

On Allu Arjun
“Allu Arjun’s dedication and professionalism are noteworthy. Allu Arjun’s commitment, efforts, and honesty towards the craft are what have taken him to great heights. Even director Trivikram Srinivas is excellent, and it was great working with such an actor and director, and I cherish those memories.”

Opinion on the film industry
“I don’t want to draw comparisons among film industries since every industry has its own style and uniqueness. They have to cater to their respective audiences since box office is key for filmmakers to survive. I am happy that Kannada movies like KGF and Kanthara have been watched worldwide, putting the Kannada film industry in the spotlight.”
