Nani, famed lover boy turns an action hero

With the first single ‘Garam Garam’ from ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’ showcasing reigning star Nani in a rugged avatar and hints at a complete new avatar. "No doubt, famed lover boy has turned action hero to woo masses,’ says a source and adds, “Nani has completed 15 years in the film industry and is surely looking for an image makeover and is planning to do more action films,' ' he adds. Although his last film 'Hi Nanna' revolved around father and daughter relationship, the actor wants to tread a new path from now onwards.

The source further adds, "Probably, he is fed up doing soft lover boy and family man roles since he is reluctant to repeat himself." He cites the example of the massive success of "Dasara". "He realized that the audience has patronized him as a rugged and drunkard youth in ‘Dasara’ in a big way. Besides, his action episodes got him much closer to the masses. When the audience lapped up his transition from a coward into a fearless youngster in the film it doubled his confidence. Hence he wants to flex his muscles,” he adds.
