The entire nation is mourning the loss of Ramoji Rao including the actor couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh who share a special bond with him. Ramoji Rao was instrumental in launching their film careers with the 2004 movie Tujhe Meri Kasam.
Ramoji Rao's banner Ushakiron Movies, produced their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam which was directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar. Vijay Bhaskar had previously directed Nuvve Kavali for Ushakiron in 2000. Both Nuvve Kavali and Tujhe Meri Kasam are remakes of the successful Malayalam film "Niram" from 1999.
Riteish Deshmukh expressed his sorrow over Ramoji Rao's passing by stating the significant role Rao played in their careers. He stated, “Genelia and I are actors today thanks to his belief in giving chances to newcomers.” Genelia shared a similar sentiment by thanking Ramoji Rao for believing in new talent at a time when they were often overlooked.

Ramoji Rao's influence extends far beyond the film industry. He was a pioneer in Telugu media leading the Eenadu group to become a significant media force. His business ventures included Usha Kiran Movies, Mayuri Film Distributors, Margadarsi Chit Fund and the Dolphin Group of Hotels. He also founded the ETV Network that encompasses a variety of television channels.
In recognition of his immense contributions Ramoji Rao was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2016 which is the second-highest civilian award in India by then-President Pranab Mukherjee.
