Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao appeared before the Telangana Women’s Commission on Saturday, in response to a summons, and expressed regret and formally apologised for his comments that women travelling free in RTC buses could “do break dance… recording…” He acknowledged that such statements were inappropriate and should not have been made by someone holding a leadership position of his stature.

The commission, while accepting his apology, issued clear instructions to Rama Rao to refrain from making any such remarks in the future. The commission said any recurrence of such incidents may result in further proceedings as deemed appropriate.

Earlier, high drama prevailed when Rama Rao came to appear before the commission with the Congress women leaders raising slogans against him for making derogatory remarks. In response, the BRS women leaders also raised anti-Congress slogans. Police personnel dispersed the two groups.
