Ashray Akruti School children create beautiful arts

At the State Art Gallery, the show titled Voiced Colours displays beautiful works of art created by the hearing impaired children of Ashray Akruti School. The children between the age group of 12 to 18 worked enthusiastically and with an open and free mind.
The works exemplify multiple objects, natural elements and emotional upheavals. Creative and realistic landscapes are the most popular genres on display. Some works are rendered in abstract strokes and some bring forth creative versions of Lord Ganesha. A still life painting by one of the students depicts a fresh group of sun flowers arranged in a glass bottle. The work recreates the freshness of the flowers and the transparency of the bottle remarkably. Another landscape unveils a flamboyant yellow sky and cobalt blue mountains.
The organisation believes that creative activities like drawing and painting have proved to have great therapeutic effect on the students, so they look forward to host such a show every year. The students are helped, inspired and supported by their art teacher V. Ramakrishna, a professional artist. He talks about his contribution to the organization, “I have been working with these children from the last four years. I often find it challenging but whenever a child does good work with my support, I feel accomplished and satisfied.”
