Hyderabad: JNTU Fine Arts students got their first location to paint their imagination. Perhaps inspired by the street art at MS Matka, the GHMC has allocated the compound walls of its 5-acre property at Attapur for beautification. The themes suggested to the students are related to the Swachh Hyderabad initiative.

The Rajendranagar circle-6, has revamped, Peddathalakunta, Chint-akunta and Narasabaikunta lakes.  These lakes now have a walking track, greenery, LED lighting and children’s play area. Colonies like Babul Reddy Nagar, Pragathinagar, Mohan Reddy Nagar and others have got lung space. This is the first three parks to have been given a facelift in the Hitec City zone.

Mr Srinivas Reddy, GHMC south zone commissioner, said over '63 lakh was spent on Peddathalakunta, Rs 60 lakh on Chintakunta and '150 lakh on Narsabai-kunta. The Peddathala-kunta lake is being used by residents of Upper-pally, Krishnanagar, Hyderguda and Shivanagar.

The corporation has tied up with the JNTU Fine Arts University to beautify city walls, corridors and bridges. The GHMC will pay for the painting material and students will use these walls in the area as part of their annual projects.
