Nandini Sidda Reddy heads Telangana Sahitya academy
Sidda Reddy played a key role in bringing Telangana literature and culture to light; these had been neglected by previous governments.
Hyderabad: The TS government on Tuesday appointed prominent poet and litterateur Nandini Sidda Reddy as chairman for Telangana Sahitya Academy.

He born in Bandaram village of Kondapaka mandal in Medak district and completed his Masters from Osmania University. He did his MPhil and PhD on modern poetry. He served as Telugu lecturer in Siddipet Government Degree College and retired from services in 2012.
He established Manjeera Writers’ Association and Telangana Writers’ Forum. He began writing poems since his school days. In August 1997, he wrote the poem Nageti Chalalla in one hour on the need for a separate state for Telangana. The song was used in the film, Poru Telangana.
Mr Reddy’s father Nandini Balasidda Reddy fought against the Razakars during Nizam’s regime.
