Winner of the nutrition award from Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Rujuta Divekar is one of the most sought after sports science and nutrition experts in the country. This nutritionist and author is now out with The PCOD/Thyroid Book as she has seen the rise of thyroid disease affecting millions of people worldwide.

Known to have busted diet fads and myths, this nutritionist’s voice rings loud as she puts the common sense in the act of eating. Having worked with people from all walks of life, including celebrities, Rujuta reveals, “Working with Kareena has been a divine experience. Very rarely does one get to work with someone as self-assured, disciplined and humble as she is. Elaborating on The PCOD/Thyroid Book, she shares, “It is like a quick go-to guide to tackle the constantly conflicting diet dictums. It educates you about your body and hormones in a way that allows you to bring about sustainable and long-lasting changes in your lifestyle. The increased awareness leads to decreased fear about hormones and allows you to understand that small lifestyle changes go a long way in bringing about a hormonal balance. And that drugs are not the only solution. It’s important to know that a holistic lifestyle is the key to striking a hormonal balance and improving insulin sensitivity. ”

Clarifying about one of her diet tip messages that’s been trending of late, she states, “That message that’s been trending that says one can eat everything including ghee and sugar, is from my ‘Open days’ and all that the weight loss industry has done is that it has turned us away from our local food and made us consumers of the belief that health and weight loss pops out of something expensive, exotic and unpronounceable, which isn’t true.”

She signs off saying, “The next one I’m working on is a book that talks about our local food and food systems called ‘Indian super foods’ and another one that focusses on kids and their diet and what we can do to repair that even before the damage is caused.”
