Art is the superpower that breaks boundaries: Aarthi Goyal
Chennai-based artist Aarthi Goyal creates surreal fluid and resin art.
Captivating is all what you will feel when you gaze at the 'Artstagram' influencer's page. A distinct collection of mesmerising fluid and resin art carefully done on delicate canvases of shells, trays and tableware. As a fan of American realist painter Edward Hopper, Aarthi truly believes in one of his quotes "If I could say it in words then there would be no reason to paint".
Art has always been a significant part in Aarthi's life, but it is only after her studies did she realise her true connection to art. With a rational 9 to 5 job while doing art part-time, Goyal decided to take the risk of becoming a full-time artist. "Art for me is an intricate part in my life that personifies my existence". For Aarthi, art is a piece of emotion that she gets to share it with the world through canvas.
Some of her well known crafts are seascape and geode inspired artworks since the artist's major source of inspiration is the ocean and she is constantly driven by water. The ocean inspired resin art made on shells and coasters radiate a sense of serendipity and a feeling of abundance, to which she says, "I am an extremely sensitive person and one good thing about it is that a lot of things inspire me"
It has been a great blessing for Aarthi to have found and connected with her audience through social media who are a constant support system to her journey. "If you want to be an artist then it is important to be yourself and create what you absolutely believe in and that might make a difference in another person's life", advises the artist.
Taking cues from her fan following, Aarthi's passion project elevates from Instagram posts to commissioned works. "Apart from the seascape, my inspirations are my clients since I interact with them to know who they are and what they want". Though she has clients from Germany to Australia, to this day, Aarthi emphatically remembers her first international client from Dubai. "Right from the smallest to the largest of my pieces, everything is customised according my clients' expectations which take an enormous amount of conversations".
Today, Aarthi creates customised pieces from coasters to furniture and conducts resin and fluid art workshops where people from around the globe come to learn. "I absolutely adore teaching and when I wanted to leave my notes to make other people's journey beautiful, I decided to teach through workshops". She has recently collaborated with Fortune Chimie to conduct her weekly workshops.
