Google on Monday paid tribute to legendary music composer RD Burman with a doodle.
Born on June 27, 1939, in Kolkata, he was the son of composer SD Burman.
RD Burman was considered as one of the most influential music director of Bollywood and was popularly known as Pancham Da.
He composed music for over 330 movies. In fact he started composing music for the movies at the age of nine.
SD Burman included his son’s composition of ‘Sar jo tera chakraaye’ in the film Pyaasa directed by Guru Dutt.
He worked with renowned singers like Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle (his wife).
Pancham Da was famous for creating versatile music. He won three Filmfare Awards for Best Music Director.
He died at the age of 54.
Many of his classics like O Mere Dil Ke Chain, Meri Bheegi Bheegi Si, Chura Liya Hai, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha, O Majhi Re, etc are still cherished.
