Devotees flock to temples for prayers on New Year day
Kurnool: With the advent of New Year, temples in Kurnool and Nandyal witnessed a significant surge in the arrival of devotees for darshan.
The influx began on Sunday evening and continued into Monday. Temples such as Srisailam, Mantralayam, Mahanandi, Yaganti, Ahobilam, Jogulamba as also other local temples had large turnout of devotees.
At the Sri Bhramaramba Sametha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, devotees arrived from the early hours of Monday, resulting in a wait time of approximately 3 to 4 hours for the darshan. The temple temporarily suspended Sparsha Darshan and special abhisheka pujas to ensure smooth darshan for all.
Mantralayam also saw a significant turnout of devotees, including many from neighboring Karnataka, leading to a wait time of 3-4 hours for darshan.
Similarly, Mahanandi, Yaganti, Ahobilam, and Sakthi Peetham Jogulamba temples in Telangana also experienced a steady stream of devotees from the early morning hours. Temples made special arrangements to accommodate the large numbers.
Further, in Kurnool city, temples such as the Ayyappa, Abhayanjaneya, Surya and Sivalayam temples, among others, also saw a substantial influx of devotees.
