Devotees throng Srisailam for Vyasa Purnima

KURNOOL: The Srisailam temple witnessed a huge surge of devotees on  Monday as they flocked to the temple on the auspicious occasion of Vyasa Purnima.

To commemorate Ashadha Purnima, the temple authorities organised the Sakambari Ustavam in a grand manner. The highlight of this traditional ritual was the decoration of Goddess Bhramaramba Devi as Sakambari.

The main priests performed special pujas and rituals were organised at both the Sri Mallikajuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi temples.

As part of the festivities, 5,000 kg of 45 different varieties of vegetables and fruits were used to decorate the deity and the temple surroundings.

The sight of the beautifully decorated Goddess and the divine ambience created a deeply spiritual experience for the worshippers.
