Hyderabad: The Tamil-speaking community of CSI All Saints Church in Trimulgherry presented a musical performance at their annual Christmas carol event, themed as Vidivelli 2023. These families have been part of the church for over a century, and their strong connection is rooted in the church's location in the Cantonment area, densely populated by Tamil families.

The choir, consisting of around 50 members, captivated the audience with 10 popular Tamil carols, engaging the congregation for over an hour. The event committee members, including Emmanuel Chelldorai, Austin Michael, Samuel Naik, Lloyd, Benhur, Thomas, Preeti, and Robin Michael, said the event's authenticity and the emotional connection formed through their native language fostered a true Christmas spirit.

Louis Kumar, the Tamil choir master, highlighted the challenges of regularly bringing together choristers and musicians for rehearsals. He shared, "Meeting every Saturday and Sunday, we dedicate about three solid hours to practice each day."

During the event, Dr Prasanna Kumar, presbyter-in-charge, spoke about the significance of Jesus Christ's birth amid the festivities. He urged everyone to remember the purpose of Christmas, praying that the celebration would bring about renewal and rebirth, allowing the people of God to proclaim the essence of God's Kingdom.
