Who can forget the high neck, floor length Rahul Mishra she dazzled in at a fashion week recently? Or the strappy, yellow Jimmy Choos she paired with a quirky dress from the house of Masaba? You obviously remember her quintessential Chanel earrings and her keen eye for classic polka, stripes and pastels. Ileana D’ Cruz never misses a beat when it comes to style and she gives us a page from her fashion diary on her recent visit to the city.

“I like keeping it simple, minimal and classy, but I do like to add an element of quirkiness,” she says, explaining her love for prints and jewellery in eclectic moulds. Ask her for essentials she cannot live without and she’s quick to reply, “It’s always good to have fun with fashion. A few that I consider essentials are, a good pair of fitted jeans to team up with fun t-shirts. You can also dress it up with a stylish, strappy top for the evening or a formal blouse for a more conservative affair,” she says. Her outfits are never too busy and doesn’t have a lot of things going on at once. As she says, she loves wearing one thing that’s simple and fits well. One could also predict that monochromes are amongst her favourite in the tonal palate judging by all the Shantanu & Nikhil, Pankaj & Nidhi and Michael Kors gowns she owns.

A shopoholic, Ileana confesses to spending hours in a store. “I just buy close to everything that’s on display – yes, I’m a compulsive shopper! When at a store, I need it to satisfy my quirky need of funny t-shirts, basics that your wardrobe can’t do without and should have an amazing collection of shoes. I love shoes. I could go on and on, really,” she says.
