We can all agree that fashion is ever-evolving. From extreme heavy makeup, jewellery and shiny clothes to the lightest makeup, minimal jewellery and pastel colours, trends are always changing. One remarkable change is that celebrities are no longer seen sporting only expensive designer wear. In fact, Kate Middleton just stepped out in a Zara dress that even the middle class can afford. “She has made such an impact on common people.

If the dress is affordable, it doesn’t mean it is not classy,” says stylist Ayesha. She further adds that it’s not only the expensive clothes that make people look good; it is about the way you carry it. Celebrity stylist Ami Patel agrees. “Style is not about how expensive clothes are. Honestly, it depends on the dress, what type of dress it is, how bright the colour is and what all you are adding to your attire.”

Not only Kate Middleton but actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt have also been spotted wearing inexpensive clothes. “They love wearing clothes that are comfortable. Yes, they are forced to wear expensive clothes for a film or ad or the red carpet but otherwise, they just want these clothes to make them look good,” says Ayesha.

On the affordable clothing trend, Ami says, “Simple is classy. No matter who you are or how expensive the dress is, stay simple and look elegant,” adding, “Develop your own style and be confident.”

These stylists also have some thoughts on the current trend of keeping it simple. “Before leaving your room, always take off one piece of jewellery. It will help you look classy. Keep your accessories minimal. That will give you an elegant look,” says Ayesha. Ami adds, “If you have a plain dress, you can add on lovely ballis or another colour to your attire through a scarf.”
