It's custom My'sed!
Flaunt customised couture wear without breaking the bank.
Think bespoke, bridal, trendy, elegant and chic and they will customise it for you. No wonder then that designers Ramya Ravi Girimaji and Anirudh Prasad of The Attic Gray have clients of the likes of actors Aindrita Ray, Deepika Kamaiah, Rahul Bose, Kiran Srinivas, Ananya Kasaravalli, Apurva Kasaravalli and other biggies from various sports, hospitality and corporate fields like Pankaj Advani, Bhakti and Bimal Hegde (Chartered group), GS Ravi (Tianhe chemicals), Jayanthi Ravi (Tianhe Chemicals), Rekha Rangarajan (Data Patterns), Gita Budhrani and Suman Pattnaik (Bootlegger), Jitesh Kanani (Puma social Club, Watsons and Magari, Mukesh Tolani (Toit, Permit Room and Boca Grande) and many more within a short span of time.
Ramya studied film and television, while Anirudh studied auditing and accounting, but the design duo always had a penchant towards design.
Ramya reveals, “I started doing tailored garments when I returned to Bengaluru from Australia, as I saw the need for individualistic customisation. Anirudh was looking for a paradigm shift and we added bespoke men’s wear section. My love for literature along with my philosophy of ‘battling insecurities through fashion’, inspired our label name ‘The Attic Gray’ — metaphorically representing Dorian Gray’s attic as our minds, and the ever-deteriorating portrait as our growing insecurities with our bodies. Although we do get celebrities, a lot of female and male industrialists from the golfing circles, who prefer classics with a twist, come to us.”
And that’s not all; they also do over 40 complete wedding looks in a year, which includes designing for the bride, groom and the entire family.
“We customise every outfit and while we both design, we also have a qualified in-house designer’s team that works alongside. What sets us apart is that these designs are made to suit different body types. We don’t blindly follow fashion trends and believe that each person is unique and needs to be catered to individually — from young party-goers, working professionals, socialites, top management etc,” says Ramya who started her journey designing brunch wear, indo-western wear and cocktail creations starting from Rs 6,000 onwards, inspired and motivated by her friends Sarah Abraham, Bianca Bhavnani, Naomi Eapen and Rishika Shivram.
