Sheerness promises to rule this season. While these naked dresses might have been in vogue, Priyanka Chopra really kicked things up a notch as she was spotted in a glamourous white gown at the Oscar’s red carpet.

Not just international runways, naked dresses have been spotted by models and stylistas in the city too. International celebrities Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kate Moss, Miley Cyrus and closer home Deepika Padukone and others swear by the trend and have been spotted in a naked dress at red carpet evenings.

It’s all about daring sheers and delicate detailing for designer Michelle Salins. Her sheer naked gowns with exquisite embellishment and delicate feathers won the hearts of the European. She states, “Celebrities have ‘dared to bare’ it all on the red carpet. The naked dress has taken the fashion world by storm.

A bold choice beyond the draped chiffon and silk gowns, the naked dress has carved a niche for itself ever since Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell flaunted their curves in versions of their own back in 1993. I believe in bold feminine beauty and my version of the naked dress has walked the ramps of the Alta Roma Fashion Week and the Bangalore Fashion Week.”

Young fashion influencer, Navya Ramesh who blogs at Sensualists Only and does not flinch at the idea of being beautiful yet bold feels that a women’s body is to be adored, and what better way to show off your curves and the fabulous body you have worked for other than in this classy style which is a rage in Hollywood and Bollywood. “Everyone from JLo, Kim K, and Beyonce is flaunting it all with a great curvaceous bod. We Indian women have god-gifted natural curves which works really well with this trend,” she states.

If you want to look like a diva then try this jaw-dropping look with either a shoulder-to shin-transparency on the side or with a bare back in hues of white, black, rose, beige, sea green or champagne. Be a sexy trendsetter as you flaunt naked cocktail dresses with sheer panels that are designed with floral and eyelet detail that makes the dare-to-bare statement elegant. Anjali Sharma of French Curve adds, “The one pieces which show more, cover a little less and accentuate all the correct areas of a body are the new ensembles to be seen in! Aptly called the naked dress, these are almost always a stunning mix of surface ornamentation and sheer! However, as an apparel specialist, I’d like to dwell upon the technicalities involved in constructing the same.

The woman’s body has to be read minutely as there’s very little scope of malfunction. Closures are invisible. The surface needs to be embellished in just that much of glitter. And the sheer is your playground to have a ball in!”
