Valentina Sampaio is all set to become the first openly transgender model for lingerie company Victoria’s Secret, after making fashion history in 2017 by becoming the first transgender model to appear on the cover of a lifestyle magazine.

People reports that the 22-year-old Brazilian recently posted a photo of her sitting in a bathrobe backstage at a photo shoot for the company’s PINK line on Long Island, New York. She also posted a selfie video, captioned, “Never stop dreaming.”

While fellow models and members of the LGBTQ+ community have hailed the development, Valentina is unlikely to walk anytime soon at a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, as they are still working on making it “the best show in the world.”

Interestingly, the company has yet to comment on her posts, which come amidst the group’s attempt to rebrand itself. This year’s show has already been scrapped, after parent company L Brands’ chief executive Leslie Wexner recently announced that they had been “taking a fresh look at every aspect of the business” in recent months, and that the brand “must evolve and change to grow.”
