Actor Roshni wins pageant
Model cum actor Roshni Singh recalls how she prepared for Miss Junior Model International, India pageant and won the title.
Roshni Singh did not enter the audition room with a plan to participate but was only accompanying her cousin to audition for the Junior Model International pageant. But a timely advice from the organsier changed her life. Roshni went on to win the Miss Junior Model International, India, title in the 16-18 age category.
This is not Roshni’s first tryst with modelling or beauty pageant, but this sure was the most unexpected.
“I was accompanying my cousin who participated in the 4 to 6 category in the pageant. During the auditions held here, I happened to meet its organiser Arun sir. He asked me, ‘Why don’t you take part in the competition and see’. I had no plans to register but when he asked me I thought why not. The next thing I know, I got through the auditions.”
The Junior Model International, India, has five age categories. The final round of the competition which was held at Kozhikode saw participants from across the country.
Going into the details, Roshni says: “We had two days of grooming sessions. We were taught how to walk and how to pose. We then had a talent round, which had 75 participants, out of whom a few were shortlisted for the final round.”
“I have participated in such competitions before, although not of such magnitude. But the funniest part was that I had never won anything in those competitions,” she laughs and adds, “I also won Best Hair title in this competition. In fact, I was planning to cut my hair during vacations.”
Roshini who just completed her class 12 is an actor and was last seen in Pareeth Pandari starring Kalabhavan Shajon.
“The winners of this pageant will represent the country in the international pageant. I will be representing India in competitions to be held at Greece, Georgia and Goa.”
