With the summers heading our way, it’s not surprising that solid, sunshiny hues of fiery yellow will reign supreme in the bright, sunny months to come. City-based fashion bloggers list out ways to help you make better sartorial choices while sporting the hue.

For work: “A carefree shade of ‘Buttercup’ yellow does not have to be restricted to your Goa vacation. Balance is the key to perfect a chic office look. So if you’re playing with a bright shade of yellow, balance it out with a neutral shade so that the outfit doesn’t seem too jarring,” says Nishka Guleria Naidu, a fashion blogger, who goes on to add, “For instance, pick up a yellow blouson top and pair it with beige, charcoal grey or tan brown pencil cut trousers. Choose tan brown pointy pumps or nude louboutins for an added impact.”

For play: “For an edgy spin on casual daywear, opt for a yellow maxi shrug and throw it over a pristine white crop top paired with white distressed denims. It’s fuss-free, very trendy and in tandem with the weather,” mentions Nishka.

Stressing on the importance of keeping the makeup lightweight and minimal this season, she pipes, “A swipe of a bright orange lippie should do. Make a note to keep the lips as the highlight.” “For an arty evening soiree or a dinner with friends, a marigold or a lemon coloured maxi dress with a sleeveless denim jacket ticks all the right boxes,” she says.

On the other hand, fashion blogger and curator Aditi Sarin emphasises on the importance of picking the right accessories. “Like we know, the simplest of outfits can be jazzed up with the right accessories. Choose silver when you’re wearing orange or yellow. Opt for a thin belt cinched at the waist to accentuate your slim waist. Darker shades like black, navy blue are ideal for women on the heavier side.”

Stating how the colour works well for India skin tones, Nishka adds, “Yellow, as a colour, is very lively and bursts with positivity. Moreover, I personally feel shades of yellow and orange look amazing on warmer skin tones. So what better time than now to sport a shade that strikes the right balance between youthful zest and a streak of positivity?”
