Dazzle like a dutch'ess!
For those of you who are new to braiding, a dutch braid is pretty much like a reverse French braid.
Speaking about all that’s fresh and fun on the style radar; Dutch Plaits or Dutch Braids seem to be having a major moment – yet again. While the fad isn’t new, it is back with a bang, given the tonne of hair styling ideas this sassy technique offers! Take style cues from celebs like Kim Kardashian to our very own Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, and Shraddha Kapoor – They have all used this ingenious method to create varied looks that oscillate from casual chic to drop-dead gorgeous!
For those of you who are new to braiding, a dutch braid is pretty much like a reverse French braid. For this reason, it's also known as an "inside-out" or a reverse braid. The technique is the same, except that instead of bringing sections of your braid over and into the centre, you bring them under. If you know how to do the French braid, you will find this relatively easier.
The dutch braid look can be taken to the boardroom, but is best suggested for casual dos. Go a tad easy on the braids to give an illusion of volume; ending in a messy fishtail, which is spot on for casual outing as well as for a hippy party girl vibe. If you’re ready to go all out, take the look a notch higher with the Boxer Braid, which is the same type of braid but worn tightly like a rope! Either way, give the Dutch Braid a nod for a simple yet striking spin on your casual look.
