Monsoon-proof your skin
Make-up tips to keep you Monsoon ready!
What you need this season is a waterproof make-up routine that isn’t cakey and keeps you fresh all day long.
Make-up base: It is advisable to use a cream-based foundation which is waterproof and long-lasting. Humid weather can make your skin sweat a lot more than usual, hence keep the base light and minimal. 9-5 BB creams are simple and a good choice. Avoid powder-based products as they get cracked and patchy. Blending 100 per cent is a must. The trick is to buff — the more you buff, the better and simpler it looks. Sonam Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal and Pragya Jaiswal have mastered the natural make-up look.
Blush: Apply blush lightly — it looks the loveliest when you can’t tell that you’re wearing it. Rather than using powder blushes, you can use cream blushes. Always blush outward so that it doesn’t end up looking artificial. You can opt for subtle and pale shades.
Eye shadow: You can experiment with bright colours such as pink, but it is safer to wear pale colours such as beige or brown. Cream-based shades will last longer.
Mascara and kajal: Avoid wearing a mascara or kajal unless it’s absolutely essential. In that case, opt for waterproof products. Use eye-liners.
Lips: It is better to use lip stains this season. Avoid glosses and opt for a matte finish. You can go for coral lipstick shades such as peachy-oranges and pinks.
Hair: Tie up your hair in a neat bun. Different types of braiding can look fashionable, chic, as well as comfortable.
Make-up works the best when your skin is clean. Hence, drink as much water as you can as it flushes out unwanted toxins. Natural facial scrubs unclog your pores and exfoliate your skin. Use a sunscreen even if it’s not too sunny.
