Meera's announcement that she had become a Director for Chennai Tamil Nadu State in Anti-corruption commission (ACC) in on Twitter is going viral as she tweeted with one of Kamal's signature dialogues from Bigg Boss, 'Odavum Mudiyathu, Oliyavum Mudiyathu, I'm watching.' (You can't run, you can't hide).
Her Instagram post read “Corruption, the biggest reason for the downfall of most empires and civilization. Some group of people can tolerate corruption as long as their leaders champion their religion or race, some will tolerate bribery as long as they champion their own pockets. I've lived long enough shouting anti-corruption slogans against the government having no problem bribing a police officer and vote for a leader of their choice as long as these leaders championed their own race. But here comes the twist and buckle up everyone - I'm now the Director for Chennai Tamil Nadu State in Anti-corruption commission (ACC ). Join hands with me for a corruption free State.”
Meera Mitun is a model and film actress, who has appeared in Tamil films like 8 Thottakkal, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam and Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari. When DC contacted her, Meera explained, “There is something lacking in this society, people do not give justice to their work. I have been thinking to serve the people for a long time; this is just an initiative of that. I will get in connection with the public and rectify this incurable disease called corruption in TN."
She asks if the injustice is caused to a person of my stature, how a lay man or woman will get justice. She says that all the police officers who have indulged in corruption cases will be facing an enquiry commission.
“I will appoint young talents for all the 33 districts in Tamil Nadu; I will show people how vigilant I am. If I get a 30-40 percent success, it is an achievement for me. People might change after that” elucidates Meera.
Though this might be just the beginning of her political ambitions, Meera, who started her life as a fashion model, will also be seen in the beauty pageant shows in coming days.
