Bollywood celebrities have forever been sporting the hottest trends of the season, giving us major fashion inspiration. This season’s hottest trend though, seems to be the classy three-strap sandals, which have suddenly become a favourite among leading ladies in Tinsel Town. Everybody from Kangana and Deepika to Alia and even Parineeti, have donned this look a number of times this season! We give you a sneak peek into the classy trend, while getting the city’s top fashionista’s to tell you how you can style it this party season.

First introduced by Zanotti, the minimalistic three-strap shoe is ideal for this party season, according to Madhurima Bhattacharjee, a local designer. “As we see winters getting shorter and warmer, the concept of seasonal dressing is loosing its significance. Strappy sandals, whether flats or with heels have always been in vogue,” says the local designer. “The shoes would look great with a fitted dress of a pencil skirt and a flowy top. And for those who want to go with the more casual look, dark skinny jeans work well with these shoes too. And paired with the right outfit, it makes the legs look so slim, which is an added bonus to the whole look,” she opines.

While cuffing your ankles might sound a little risky, they just add a sexy vibe. From t-straps to lace ups, strappy shoes sure have come a long way! “This shoe is a wardrobe staple for most, as it is minimal, stylish and elegant at the same time. It can also be paired with anything and never go wrong,” says Aswathi Balakrishnan, a stylist from the city. But what is it about this particular shoe that makes it so appealing, we want to know. “I have always believed that the perfect shoe can completely transform your outfit and give it an instant flair, and I think that’s what the three-strap does. It can be paired with anything and everything and never go wrong,” she says before adding, “You don’t need to be a fashionista to style this pair, which is why I think this trend is here to stay.”

The chic and basic look was also big back in the 90’s and usually paired with leather pencil skirts and cropped tops. “The one thing I absolutely love about this look is that it gives off an effortlessly trendy vibe. It feels like it has been made for everything from boyfriend jeans to slouchy clothes like sweaters, day dresses and jumpsuits as well,” opines Pavitra Sagar, another designer. But the thing about these shoes is that they seem too uncomfortable to walk in! “Contrary to popular belief, they are not that hard to walk in, once you get used to them! And since there is no way you can go wrong with this look, I think it’s totally worth it,” smiles Pavitra in conclusion.
