Nutripreneurs of health
Creating food entities that are healthy, pack oodles of nutritious flavour, these two girls are bringing simple food to the fitness table.
They’re high on energy and are doing their bit to make Bengalureans eat and live healthy. Entrepreneurs by day and sisters by night, Darshana Nahata and Sunayna Hiran have found an alternative to the pubbing and clubbing culture of Bengaluru. They have come together to fulfil their healthy living aspirations combined with a passion for cooking, fitness and self-realisation, offering classes and workshops, besides nutritious cuisine at Aasan-Payasam, Enerjuvate Studios.
“My parents moved from Vizag to Rajasthan to convert our ancestral haveli into a beautiful heritage hotel (Basavan hotels). My dad is an architect and that’s why I was always inclined towards arts and food. I’ve been painting and exhibiting my work. But I’ve always been very passionate about food and indulging in new cuisines and creating new innovative recipes. I love the concept of art on a plate and the play of colours and presentation that revolves around food. Health food need not be boring,” shares Darshana who offers gluten free and vegan options, naturally sweetened ice creams, fresh juice shots, jowar pizzas and wraps, spicy Thai and Nepalese soup meals and scrumptious fusion salads.
Some of the healthy delicacies the duo serves include Beetroot blush salad, Thai guava salad, Banana cinnamon flax smoothie, Green and beetroot wraps, Thai soup with salad, Ragi pancakes with salad, Pesto broccoli pizza, Honey roasted apple pizza, handbeaten organic coffee and more.
Sunayna Hiran who is into mining, mineral exports and providing bulk cargo logistics solutions adds, “We’re both practitioners of Yoga and holistic living, so one day when we started talking about wanting to open an energy studio where people can experience a high through fun workouts and also get to eat healthy food, we knew we were going in the right direction.
Our concept energy studio, boutique and cafe has pizzas and other food that is filled with health, nutrition and goodness. We make ragi and amaranth pizzas, wraps which have goodness of jowar, beetroot and spinach. Our food compliments our workouts and is high in fibre and nutrition. One can also pick up healthy granola bars, choco almonds and healthy vegan cakes and brownies.”
