Along with the rest of the Twitter users, the video also stunned American model turned chef Chrissy Teigen. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT," Teigen tweeted alongside the video.
Soon after the video went viral, people flooded Twitter with their reaction marvelling the peeling technique. "I can't believe I've been wasting all that time. I've never been this excited to make dinner," a tweeter wrote.
"Not sure how I never knew about this. I lament when I consider how much more garlic I could have used during all these years had I only known of this technique," wrote another. After trying the trick, a user, expressing his excitement, wrote "oh boy it's real. I got it pretty quickly although not nearly as fast as you are."
While it did work for some, others were left disappointed. "Man, I just went through a head of garlic working on my technique and just ended up with a bunch of broken cloves," a user tweeted. "That has NEVER worked for me. Ever," another said.
When it comes to peeling garlic, aren't we all looking for that one hack that will finally save us time and broken nails, giving us beautifully peeled cloves ready for chopping, mincing or crushing? As the internet comes up with a new trick every few days, all we can do is keep trying until we succeed.
