Guntur: Call to help HIV infected kids

Mr Sasidhar said that these children did not commit any crime and they are result of wrongdoings of others which is very sad.

Guntur: Philanthropists have been urged to come forward to adopt HIV-infected children at a programme held marking the World AIDS Day here on Friday. Guntur district collector K. Sasidhar, Guntur urban SP Ch. Vijaya Rao and rural SP Ch.V. Appala Naidu interacted with the HIV infected children. Mr Sasidhar said that there were 1,800 children in the Guntur district infected with the virus and appealed to public including officials to come forward for the adoption of these children helping them to achieve their goals.

Mr Sasidhar, Mr Vijaya Rao and Mr Appala Naidu taken breakfast with 25 HIV infected children and presented schools bags to them. The HIV infected children during interaction with the trio officials stated that they wished to become collector, cricketer, teacher and other professions. Mr Sasidhar said that these children did not commit any crime and they are result of wrongdoings of others which is very sad. HIV infected children can live normal life like others, Guntur district collector K. Sasidhar said.
