Summer bestows us with mangoes and holidays. But at the same time soaring heat, dehydration, stomach upsets, sunstroke, body pains, headaches, and feverishness are also common. Children and elderly are most affected by these. Here are the best concoctions from nutritionist Dr Janaki, to enjoy summer hassel free

Break weakness
Ingredients
Tender coconut water 1 glass 
The curd inside the tender coconut
1 teaspoon glucose 
Pinch rock salt 
½ chilled water cups

Method: Blend all the ingredients and serve. Coconut is the best natural source of combating weakness during summer. Glucose and rock salt  give instant relief. A great refreshing drink for summer, especially good for children and elders.

Break weakness

Hydration Tonic
Ingredients
½ musk melon 
1 tsp sugar 
A pinch salt 
½ tsp chia seeds

Method: Blend musk melon with all ingredients and add sufficient water. 
Chill and serve. Hydration is very important in summer. Even if you are in an air conditioned room dehydration might happen. All the nutrients in this hydration tonic will help you relax in summer.

Hydration Tonic

Summer potion
Ingredients
½ cup full fat curd 
1 glass water
1 teaspoon ginger juice 
½ lemon juice 
1 chilli finely chopped
Salt to taste
1 tsp chia seeds 
¼ cup mint and coriander leaves (optional)

Method: Churn the curd properly. Add all ingredients and churn again. Pour in an earthen pot and serve. This potion helps to combat sunstroke. Calcium in  the curd, potassium in the lemon, anti-inflammatory  elements from ginger helps relieve the summer effect.
