Kerala Shasthra Sahithya Parishat to launch door-to-door immunisation campaign

The health authorities have ordered more medicine for diphtheria treatment at the MCH.

MALAPPURAM: Kerala Shasthra Sahithya Parishat (KSSP) is gearing up for an extensive door-to-door health campaign throughout Malappuram district in the wake of the re-emergence of deadly communicable diseases which can be prevented through vaccination. The awareness campaign supported by the department of health will be launched on Thursday. The drive includes 1000 courtyard discussions and a health dialogue expedition led by health experts and medical practitioners.

Courtyard discussions will be held at 1000 houses in various parts of the district and special training has been given to 250 health workers to conduct these doubt clarification and awareness programmes. Doctors, politicians and local body members will also be a part of these discussion meets. The KSSP immunisation awareness programme has the cooperation of the Indian Medical Association and Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
