Chennai: Man's organs save lives

The patient continued to be in a critical condition and succumbed on Tuesday.

Chennai: A 38-year-old entrepreneur of a private telecom dealership, who sustained serious head injuries in an accident last week, succumbed on Tuesday. His organs were donated.

He was riding a two-wheeler when he was hit by an unknown vehicle last Friday. He was rushed to the local GH in Srikali and was shifted to the SIMS Hospital for further treatment on Saturday. The patient continued to be in a critical condition and succumbed on Tuesday. His liver, kidney, heart and eyes were harvested by doctors of SIMS. “One of his kidneys was transplanted at SIMS and rest of the organs were sent to other hospitals on Thursday. He is survived by his wife Sasikala and a six-year-old child.
