Hyderabad: Three more cases of swine flu have been reported in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy, this time in Santosh Nagar, Bowenpally and Alwal areas. The patients, who are undergoing treatment at private hospitals, are said to be stable.

A senior district health official said sporadic cases of swine flu are being seen as the virus hits people whose immune systems were weak. The lower temperatures, following rains, would help the virus thrive, they warned.

The virus has a debilitating effect and causes complications only if the viral load in the body is very high. Those who do not have high viral loads can recover with proper medication, good intake of water and rest.
