2-year-old from Nepal has a third hand growing out of his back
The arm is a remain of an undeveloped twin that is growing out of his spine.
Nepal: In times with hectic schedule and a lot to do, people might think having an extra pair of hands might be a great idea for multitasking and making life easier.
But while most people could only imagine having another hand, the experience can be quite different from what people think when that becomes a reality.
A two-year-old from Nepal has a third hand growing out of his back and apart from not moving at all, the removal of the arm puts Gaurab at the risk of paralysis.
The split from the spine which is seen in one out of 1500 children is already affecting Gaurab’s sleep and the arm is actually a remain from an undeveloped twin.
The condition became more complicated because the family is a conservative religious one and didn’t get medical opinions since their shaman asked them not to visit a doctor.
Doctors say that the arm, which the child doesn’t even notice, is less of a problem as compared to the growth in the spine which might create neurological problems while the operation can damage his nerves.
