Eat right, stay fit
Born with the idea of making nutrition-rich food a part of life, LeanSpoon is making a difference at the ground level.
Just like the couple Gopikrishna Lingala and Saneesha, most people they interacted with in the age group of 25-45 believed in eating a diet rich in nutrition. Besides the health-conscious, those with a lifestyle disease or the ones with special nutritional requirements like sportspersons or pregnant women — are on a constant lookout for seeking expert advice on nutrition management. That’s how LeanSpoon was founded.
With a team of over 20 individuals — all of who are equally passionate to make healthy food accessible, the company that was founded seven months ago, provides nutrition advice and food to hospitals for in-patients, including those who have undergone surgery.
“It is important to have healthy food that you enjoy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It should keep you feeling light and energetic. At LeanSpoon we help people achieve their health goals, through personalised nutrition advice with portion controlled tasty food — all connected to each user’s medical background, dietary patterns and health goals,” says Gopi and adds, “The meals we serve are not only well-balanced but also a culinary delight.”
The trials in the industry? “Some of the big challenges are to find the right talent besides reliable suppliers, as the supply side is largely from unorganised sector — raw material suppliers and plastics manufacturers. So it is a big challenge to build a business model connecting two sectors from scratch and re-orienting how people perceive nutrition. Food is always a work in progress and it is ever evolving,” says Saneesha.
