AIG Hospitals gets second PET Scan machine, a record

Hyderabad: AIG Hospitals inaugurated the second PET scan machine at its department of nuclear medicine, making it the only private hospital in Asia to have two such state-of-the-art medical equipment installed.

Principal secretary, health, medical and family welfare, Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi inaugurated the machine and complemented the management on being at the forefront of cancer treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals, said, “AIG Hospitals has become the go-to centre for all gastro-intestinal cancers across India with our multidisciplinary approach and expertise in gastro care both in terms of medical management and surgical treatment. With the growing volume of such patients, it was our responsibility to make sure that everyone is catered within the hospital premises for all diagnostic and therapeutic needs. This second PET scan machine will enable seamless flow of patients and reduce the reporting gap, saving valuable time for all cancer patients.”
