Research statistics show one in 10 women of reproductive age are affected by endometriosis, a serious health condition that causes chronic pain during periods and can even lead to infertility. There is a lot of prejudice when it comes to openly discussing menstruation in general and lack of awareness regarding diseases like endometriosis in particular. So, a new documentary titled Endo What? aims to fill this information gap.

Filmmaker Shannon Cohn came up with the film idea after she realised that there was no revolutionary treatment for endometriosis even after she was herself diagnosed with the condition twenty years ago. The movie reveals shocking facts like how women have to see an average of seven to eight physicians to finally get a proper diagnosis.

Cohn hopes that the film can educate people about the disease and make silent sufferers realise that they are not alone.
