Marriages, made in heaven
Interactive photo booths One-stop place for getting those wacky wedding pictures for friends and family.
The recent big fat Indian weddings have turned the spotlight on destination weddings like never before. Deep-Veer’s recent wedding held in Italy and the impending wedding of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas in Jodhpur have sent many a bride-to-be and bridegroom scrambling to wedding planners.
Weddings, like all events, have evolved and today the customers and event organisers are looking at going a notch above on all counts, be it decorations, entertainment, or audio-video setup. Harsh Dhand, founder and CEO of RentSher, talks of the top five trends that he sees.
Floral ceilings and botanical centre pieces - Not only walls and entrances, just like ancient India palaces and temples, the ceilings are also adorned with flower patterns. A large centerpiece depicting the theme is a must in all wedding halls.
Metallic with soft pastel shades for accessories and props - Photographs and videos are made of each aspect in the wedding, so metallic shades are preferred.
Trendy dance floors – LED-lit dance floors for the bride, groom and their friends and relatives to get into the groove.
Interactive photo booths – One-stop place for getting those wacky wedding pictures for friends and family.
Eco-friendly weddings - Contribute to the cause; make it a wedding to remember, that is also not heavy on the environment. Use nature-themed (floral) decor, natural thals for food and natural colors.
The wedding themes are also witnessing a sea change and Harsh throws light on the three most-preferred themes in India, which are often chosen by the bride herself.
Fairy-tale wedding theme – A nice mix of Indo-Western. The girls of Gen Z grew up with Disney fairy tales and they prefer this theme to wed their prince
Royal wedding theme - This is an evergreen theme as it allows you to splurge on the décor. It looks grand and suits well with traditional Indian decor, apparels, etc.
Beach wedding theme - Why wait till honeymoon when you can get a nice beach recreated at the wedding itself?
Last but not the least, here is a list of the most-preferred Indian and international destination wedding locations. The trending Indian destinations are Udaipur, Jaipur, Goa and Kerala, while international ones are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bali, Ras Al Khaimah and, of course, if you have the money, Italy. After DeepVeer’s wedding, that is the hottest international destination.
