Ventiko takes Dexter, her peacock therapy bird almost everywhere she goes.

Dexter helps the New-York based photographer with stress and anxiety.

She even bough her feather friend an airplane ticket to travel with her to Los Angeles. But when she arrived New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport to board a flight with the bird she was turned away, the Metro reported.

United Airlines banned her feathered passenger on the flight for safety and health concerns. So they were left with no other choice but road trip their way to their destination.

Spokeswoman for the airline Andrea Hiller said that Ventiko was told well in advance she would not be allowed to have the bird on the flight, the report stated. This was even before they arrived the airport.
